Mend Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 28, 2026
Overview
Mend is a personal pain diary. It is designed to keep your information on this device — your iPhone or iPad. Mend does not require an account and does not include advertising or analytics SDKs.
Data Mend stores on your device
Injury details you enter (name, body part, onset date, notes), daily pain check-ins (level and optional note), optional manual activity logs, and reminder preferences. This data is stored locally with SwiftData on your device. If you back up the device to iCloud or a computer, that backup may include Mend’s journal.
Health data
If you grant access, Mend reads — but does not write — selected Apple Health data on your device: step count, flights climbed, walking/running distance, cycling distance, and workouts. Mend uses this only to show activity next to your pain journal on this device. Health data is not uploaded, sold, or shared with third parties by Mend.
Notifications
If you enable the daily check-in reminder, Mend schedules local notifications on your device. Notification content is not sent to a server.
Optional on-device recap
On supported devices, Mend may generate a short weekly narrative using Apple’s on-device Foundation Models. That processing stays on your device; Mend does not send your journal to a remote AI service.
Sharing you choose
If you use Share this week, Mend creates a PDF on your device and opens the system share sheet. Anything you send leaves the device only because you chose that destination. Mend does not transmit the PDF itself.
Data we do not collect
Mend does not operate accounts, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell or use health or journal data for advertising or data mining.
Your choices
You can revoke Apple Health access in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices. You can turn off reminders in Mend Settings or system Settings. You can delete injuries and entries in the app. Uninstalling Mend removes its local data from that device.
Children
Mend is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the app to store health information about a child if you are not their parent or legal guardian and permitted to do so.
Not medical advice
Mend is a personal journal, not medical advice. Talk with a clinician before changing how you train or recover.
Changes
If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
